Reilly Christmas Fun Ride 🎄🚴‍♂️

Reilly Christmas Fun Ride 🎄🚴‍♂️

On Saturday 13 December, a festive group of riders gathered at Reilly’s Workshop in Westerham for Reilly Christmas Fun Ride for a relaxed but spirited 50km road loop through some of Kent’s loveliest lanes.

The Wake Up Call
It was surprisingly nippy with patchy fog when fifteen riders and a bunch of Reilly staff set off.  Christmas spirits were high until they realised that there was an immediate 20% climb!

What a Scene
After which the route eased into undulating terrain towards Brasted with another kick up at Crockham Hill.  The fast descent of Bayleys Hill as the sun glinted off the mist over the Sevenoaks Weald was just stunning.

Stock Up on Chocs
With a welcomed feed stop at Chiddingstone (25km) where everyone stopped for a chat and stocked up on snacks and bananas.

Get a bit of History In
Then off past picturesque Chiddingstone Castle and the impressive Tudor Castle at Hever.  All the while bracing for climb at Treveraux Hill.  Although a steep 14% it was amazing climbing through such a beautiful private estate.

Time for a Mince Pie
Followed by the slow slogs of Clacket, Rectory and Clarkes climbs which brought us back to Tatsfield.  Then a Christmas Cracker – the surprise gravel mogel field just before we reached Reilly for a well-deserved mince pies and mulled wine!
